Axel Swanson, as the Director of Research, is charged with developing and maintaining a research program to support WSAC’s policy objectives and support member counties with relevant and current information regarding county governance and finance. He brings to WSAC his experience as a former Senior Policy Analyst for Clark County, Cowlitz County Commissioner, member of WSAC's Legislative Steering Committee and Board of Directors, and an intern at the Washington State Senate and Attorney General’s Office. He is a graduate of Gonzaga University and the Vermont Law School.
Created in 1906, the Washington State Association of Counties (WSAC) is a voluntary, non-profit association serving all of Washington's 39 counties. WSAC members include elected county commissioners, council members and executives from all of Washington's 39 counties.
