Washington County Administration Association

WCAA’s membership includes county administrators and managers from across Washington State.  WCAA works closely with WSAC on advancing the county legislative agenda and other county-related issues and activities.

Our Mission
WCAA is a collaborative network of government professionals who seek to exchange information, experiences, and solutions for issues or trends affecting county government. We promote and advance best practices that allow government to operate effectively and efficiently. We strive to enhance coordination and collaboration among counties, and between counties and state agencies.

Who We Are
We are made up of county leaders from across the state whose primary duties fall within the executive branch of county government, including administration, management, finance, budget, human resources, and risk management.

Who Can Join
Members must be either county administrators; budget and finance directors; human resource directors; risk managers; or an official whose duties are primarily devoted to general and/or fiscal management. Each county is allowed three members to join as part of their county’s flat membership due; only one member per county may vote on WCAA business.

Regional Meetings & Annual Conference
WCAA regional meetings allow members to network locally. Participants discuss emerging issues and trends, and share best practices and innovations. The annual conference takes place every spring in Leavenworth, and offers training and in-depth opportunities to share and inform.

Training for Newly Elected Officials
WCAA partners with WSAC to support county elected officials by providing regular training on various topics statewide, and introductory training for new officials.

Professional Development
WCAA links members with opportunities for professional development and leadership training throughout the year.

WSAC Fall Conference
WCAA members provide support to the WSAC fall conference by providing expert speakers on various issues important to county governance and finance.

Legislative Update
The WCAA president is an ex-officio member of the WSAC Legislative Steering Committee (LSC) and provides insight from the administrative perspective to the group.
