The Marbled Murrelet study bill, HB 2285 that establishes an advisory group under the Commissioner of Public Lands at DNR to study the impacts of an adopted Marbled Murrelet Habitat Conservation Plan is scheduled for “exec” of Ways and Means this week.

We need the Senate to pass it off the floor and match the House budget with funding for this study.

ESSB 6140 includes language from SB 6539 requiring DNR to review and evaluate trust land regarding compliance with the state’s fiduciary responsibility to trust beneficiaries.

There is funding provided in the Senate budget and the bill has been heard in the House Capital budget committee pending the House approval and funding.
