Washington Counties Insurance Fund (WCIF) is a public non-profit multi-employer trust established in 1958 by the Washington State Association of Counties (WSAC). Originally founded to provide health and welfare benefits for county employees, WCIF now provides coverage for over 100 participating employer groups including not only counties, but also a variety of other local government entities and publicly funded non-profit organizations.
The Washington Counties Risk Pool is an association “Created by Counties for Counties” in 1988 and pursuant to Chapters 48.62 and 39.34 RCW to provide to member counties programs of joint self-insurance, joint purchasing of insurance and joint contracting for or hiring of personnel to provide risk management, claims handling and administrative services.
The Washington Rural Counties Insurance Program(WRCIP) is a property and liability risk and insurance pooling program for counties. The WRCIP was formed in 1998 with three founding member counties. The WRCIP currently insures nearly 25% of Washington State counties.
