Washington State Association of County and Regional Planning Directors

The Washington State Association of County and Regional Planning Directors (WSACRPD) was established in 1967 for four distinct purposes:

  1. Improve the practice of planning and foster the application of sound planning concepts throughout all county government and regional agencies;
  2. Develop liaison with other organizations on matters of mutual concern;
  3. Encourage the exchange of planning information and experience; and
  4. Develop and present recommendation to the Washington State Association of Counties on legislative matters.

WSACRPD members include planning directors/managers of a county or regional planning agency, which includes a county, in the State of Washington.  Professional planners whose duties involve continuous contact with county or regional offices may also be affiliate members.

The Association remains very active today, serving the original four purposes for which it was created.  Members engage regularly with WSAC staff and members as well as state agencies on matters relevant to planning and development.  Members meet periodically throughout the year, including an annual conference.  Meetings are held weekly during the legislative session to gather information and provide feedback to WSAC on relevant legislative proposals.
